[0002] METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING AN ACTIVATION OF A DRIVING MODE OF A VEHICLE
[0003]
[0004] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0005]
[0006] The present patent application has as its object a method for controlling an activation of a driving mode of a vehicle according to claim 1, which incorporates remarkable innovations and advantages, together with a vehicle luminous device configured so as to execute the method for controlling an activation of a driving mode of a vehicle, according to claim 15.
[0007]
[0008] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0009]
[0010] Current vehicles offer a wide variety of different modes of operation that, in some cases, substantially modify the behavior of the vehicle. Thus, there is a need in the automobile sector to inform the user of the vehicle of the driving mode that is activated at the time of ignition, before proceeding with its driving. In this way, the user can know in advance and plan the driving depending on the mode of operation of the vehicle, being able to foresee the responses of the vehicle to the actions performed by the driver of the vehicle.
[0011]
[0012] In this regard, it is known from the state of the art, as reflected in document EP2839989, a lighting device for a vehicle that includes a diffuser, a light emitting unit, a light guide element and a control unit for switch the light emitting unit between the ignition situation and other decorative modes of light. The light emitting unit provides a lighting effect or a warning effect when operating in the driving light mode. The light-emitting unit in the decorative lighting mode emits a different light color than that emitted in the driving light mode. The light guide element guides the light rays from the light emitting unit to the diffuser outlet.
[0013] It is noted that the objective is to achieve a lighting device comprising two differentiated functions: a conduction function (allows to stop, lighting, long lights, intermittent ...), and a decorative function. The decoration function offers the properties of changing color, attenuation or intermittences.
[0014]
[0015] On the other hand, the implementation of lighting sequences is known in order to notify the locking or unlocking of the doors of a vehicle. This sequence can be an intermittence of the lane change signaling lights, a lighting of position lights ... Even so, no additional information is provided in the generation of said sequences.
[0016]
[0017] Thus, in view of the foregoing, it is seen that there is still a need to have a method and device to control an activation of a vehicle driving mode, such that the driver is informed that the selected driving mode from the outside of the vehicle has been correctly applied by the vehicle.
[0018]
[0019] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0020]
[0021] The present invention consists of a method, and associated device, preferably a lighting system in the headlights of the vehicle which consists of representing, preferably by means of the lighting, the driving mode with which the ignition of the vehicle will take place. In addition, the user can configure from the outside of the vehicle before proceeding with their driving.
[0022]
[0023] In particular, the invention consists in a method for controlling an activation of a driving mode of a vehicle, wherein the vehicle comprises at least one wireless communication means, and wherein an external device is capable of establishing communication with the at least one means of wireless communication, where the method comprises the steps of:
[0024] i) activate the vehicle through the external device,
[0025] ii) ii) determine a mode of driving,
[0026] iii) iii) emit at least one luminous signal based on the determined driving mode, and
[0027] iv) iv) activate the driving mode based on the light signal emitted and / or the determined driving mode.
[0028] By wireless communication is meant any system or device capable of establishing a wireless communication, ie a communication that uses a modulation of electromagnetic waves through space. This wireless communication can be by Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or other equivalent.
[0029]
[0030] External device means a device outside the vehicle, such as a mobile electronic device, a computer, a key ... so that this external device exchanges information with the wireless communication medium of the vehicle.
[0031]
[0032] Activating means applying or establishing a certain configuration. In particular, by activating the vehicle means a first interaction performed by the user with the vehicle. This activation can be an unlocking of the doors of the vehicle, an ignition of the main electrical system of the vehicle, a ignition of the propulsion system or a combination of them. On the other hand, activating the driving mode means applying the set of parameters and features that make the vehicle work in that particular driving mode.
[0033]
[0034] In this way, at the moment when the user wishes to access the vehicle, that is to say, when the activation of the vehicle takes place, the driving mode with which it is desired to perform said activation of the vehicle is determined or analyzed. Once determined, a luminous signal is generated and emitted towards the outside of the vehicle in order to inform the driving mode with which the activation of the vehicle is going to take place. Finally, the activation or implementation of vehicle parameters that are appropriate to the particular driving mode occurs.
[0035]
[0036] The technical problem that is faced with the present invention is to make an efficient communication, and as fast as possible, to the outside of the vehicle, so that the moment of ignition of the vehicle is used to transmit to the user additional information of the driving mode. In this way, the driver will know beforehand and before accessing the vehicle, the response of the vehicle to the driver's requests. Ace! it will be possible to make a more adequate forecast of the route to be carried out. On the other hand and as an example, in case of being an autonomous driving, the user can access the vehicle in a different position to the driving, knowing in advance that the activation of the vehicle will be in a mode of autonomous driving.
[0037] Advantageously, the step of determining the driving mode comprises a previous step of receiving the driving mode by means of the wireless communication means. Thus, the vehicle will receive the driving mode with which to perform the activation quickly and prior to user access to the interior of the vehicle. The driving mode may have been pre-configured from a computer by the user, or may have been required by a central computer. As an example, due to poor air quality, a public authority may require the activation of a vehicle in electric mode, so that said requirement will be received and configured by the vehicle. The user of the vehicle will be notified by means of the at least one luminous signal emitted from the activation of said driving mode before accessing the vehicle.
[0038]
[0039] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the method comprises a step of transmitting the driving mode by means of the external device, wherein the step of transmitting the driving mode is at the time of activation of the vehicle. Thus, the person who will make use of the vehicle, can select and transmit what will be the desired mode of driving, according to their preferences, and at the time they are approaching it. In this way, it is not necessary to wait for a contact or physical connection between the vehicle and the user since, prior to the user's access to the interior of the vehicle, the desired driving mode is selected and activated. In order to reduce the energetic consumption of the wireless communication means, the transmission and reception of the desired driving mode is carried out at the moment of the activation of the vehicle.
[0040]
[0041] More specifically, the method comprises a step of confirming to the user that the determined driving mode has been correctly enabled. This step can be additional or simultaneous to the emission of the at least one luminous signal.
[0042]
[0043] According to another aspect of the invention, the step of determining the driving mode comprises establishing the default driving mode or establishing the last driving mode activated, if the step of receiving the driving mode by means of the wireless communication means is negative . Therefore, if the wireless communication medium has not received any driving mode, the vehicle advantageously establishes a predetermined default driving mode, or otherwise, establishes the last driving mode with which it has been activated. the vehicle Similarly, it occurs an emission of at least one luminous signal based on said determined conduction mode and proceeding to the activation of the conduction mode.
[0044]
[0045] It should be mentioned that the step of activating the driving mode comprises configuring at least one vehicle parameter by means of a control unit, so that activating said driving mode has an effective repercussion on the features offered by the vehicle to its user.
[0046]
[0047] More specifically, the at least one parameter of the vehicle comprises a propulsion system, that is, the at least one parameter of the vehicle to be configured or enabled can affect the type of energy and / or fuel propelled by the vehicle, while affecting to the level of consumption, and to the economic expense that the user of the vehicle has to make to move with it. As examples, any type of hybrid vehicle may be cited, for example, a vehicle comprising a propulsion system by electric motor, propelled by electric power, or by an explosion motor, propelled by a fossil fuel or fuel.
[0048]
[0049] Advantageously, the at least one parameter of the vehicle comprises a behavior of the vehicle, where the behavior of the vehicle is based on a configuration of a vehicle dynamics. In this way, the driving mode influences the behavior of the vehicle, this variable being along the conduction. For example, the vehicle can be configured with a sporting behavior, an economic behavior, a behavior conducive to driving on off-road terrains ...
[0050]
[0051] On the other hand, the at least one vehicle parameter comprises a driving system. In this way, the driving mode influences the driving system of the vehicle. As driving systems it is possible to mention, in an illustrative way, a system of autonomous driving, without participation by the driver, or a manual driving system, with total or partial handling by the driver.
[0052]
[0053] According to another aspect of the invention, the external device is an electronic key and / or a mobile telephone and / or a computer. In this way, the user can, through any of said external devices, establish a wireless communication with the vehicle in order to activate the vehicle, and select a driving mode. Said driving mode will be transmitted, determined and activated in the vehicle.
[0054] Thus, and by way of illustration, the step of determining or selecting a driving mode may consist of a predefined sequence of commands in the case of the traditional portable key. Thus, a double pulse on the door unlocking button could mean, by way of example, the opening of the vehicle in electric driving mode.
[0055]
[0056] Furthermore, the step of determining or selecting a driving mode can consist, in the case of an intelligent mobile phone or Smartphone or a computer, of an actuator specially enabled for each possible driving mode.
[0057]
[0058] Alternatively, the user selects for example a route and driving modes of the vehicle from a computer or PC in his house. Thus, when the user opens the vehicle by means of the key or smart mobile phone or Smartphone, the transfer of information of the driving mode with which the vehicle will be opened or activated occurs at that moment.
[0059]
[0060] Note that the transfer of information may occur at the same time of the conduction, either by exchange of information between the key and the vehicle, the smart mobile phone or Smartphone and the vehicle, or the computer or PC and the vehicle, overturned by example through 3G technology. Alternatively, this transfer of information may take place at the time the vehicle is activated or turned on, either by the key or by the smart mobile phone or Smartphone.
[0061]
[0062] According to another aspect of the invention, the external device comprises at least one application, where the driving mode is selected by means of the at least one application. Advantageously, the external device, comprising an electronic and / or software storage means, comprises an application that is capable of executing the steps of activating the vehicle, and of determining a mode of driving, in a more complete manner and with information and additional benefits.
[0063]
[0064] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the step of emitting at least one luminous signal comprises emitting light with at least one sequence of on and off. In this way the user receives a clear visual signal, indicative of the driving mode that the user will encounter when accessing the vehicle. It is therefore remarked that the sequence of on and off of the light emitted can be either by the previous lights or by the rear lights. Therefore, this communication of information is made to the outside of the vehicle.
[0065]
[0066] Thus, and according to another embodiment of the invention, the step of emitting at least one luminous signal comprises emitting light of at least one color, so that each color will be representative of a determined mode of conduction, facilitating the interpretation of information by the user .
[0067]
[0068] As a consequence, the vehicle comprises at least one headlight, wherein the at least one headlight comprises at least one RGB LED, so that the light signal is capable of being emitted in at least one color different from the usual white light.
[0069]
[0070] Alternatively, other luminous effects can be generated in order to facilitate the interpretation of the information and facilitate the user to be quickly aware of the driving mode with which the activation of the vehicle occurs. Thus, the lighting can be through colors, flash sequences, flashes, increases or decreases in luminous intensity and combination between them.
[0071]
[0072] Alternatively, the method of the invention comprises a step of emitting at least one acoustic signal, based on the determined driving mode, so that the user receives a clear and easily noticeable warning, even without looking at the vehicle. The generated acoustic signal can be in combination with the emission of the at least one luminous signal.
[0073]
[0074] The object of the present invention is also the vehicle lighting device configured to execute the method as described above.
[0075]
[0076] The accompanying drawings show, by way of non-limiting example, a method, and associated device, for controlling an activation of a driving mode of a vehicle, constituted according to the invention. Other characteristics and advantages of said associated device, to control an activation of a driving mode of a vehicle, object of the present invention, will be evident from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive embodiment, which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which:

[0083]
[0084] DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0085]
[0086] In view of the mentioned figures and, in accordance with the numeration adopted, an example of a preferred embodiment of the invention can be observed, which comprises the parts and elements that are indicated and described in detail below.
[0087]
[0088] Figure 1 shows, illustratively, a vehicle 1 with a light device configured according to the method of the present invention, with a user approaching the vehicle 1, and in disposition to open and / or activate it. In particular, the vehicle 1 comprises at least one wireless communication means 4 (not seen in the figure). For its part, a user of the vehicle 1 has an external device 8 which is capable of exchanging information and communicating with the wireless communication means 4 of the vehicle 1.
[0089]
[0090] Initially, the user approaches the vehicle 1 and activates the vehicle 1 by means of the external device 8. By activating it is understood that the user is willing to access it, either by unlocking the doors of the vehicle 1 or by switching on the vehicle. the vehicle electronics 1 ... It is understood that this vehicle activation operation 1 is carried out when the user is in the vicinity of the vehicle 1, that is, he has visual contact with the vehicle 1. The communication between the wireless communication means 4 and the external device 8 is realized by wireless means, for example, by infrared.
[0091] Once the vehicle 1 is activated, the vehicle determines a driving mode 5. This defined driving mode 5 is a driving mode 5 available by the vehicle 1 itself, which will affect the behavior during the driving of the vehicle 1.
[0092]
[0093] In order for the user to know in which driving mode 5 the vehicle 1 will start or activate, the vehicle 1 emits at least one light signal 6 indicative of the driving mode 5, so that the user will be able to identify quickly and distinguish inequlvocally the driving mode 5 with which the vehicle is activated 1. Asl, headlights 2 of the vehicle emit light with certain properties, these specific properties being associated with a specific driving mode. Headlights 2 means the headlight of the vehicle 1 or the rear lights of the vehicle 1.
[0094]
[0095] To facilitate the identification of the driving mode 5 by the user, the at least one headlight 2 can emit light with at least one sequence of on and off, some blinks determined, a color and / or a characteristic intensity for each driving modes 5. Therefore, each driving mode 5 will have its own and easily recognizable luminous properties. The headlight 2 may comprise a LED of the RGB type in order to produce a variety of colors sufficient to identify the different driving modes 5. Additionally and in order to facilitate communication, an acoustic signal may be issued depending on the mode of driving 5 activated. Thus, a series of colors can be presented as exterior lighting, or a specific ceremony or sequence of lights on and off in the headlights, which can include in a specific realization light guides. The user can carry out a manual configuration of the ceremony or sequence associated with each driving mode 5. In an alternative embodiment the adjustment of the driving mode 5 can be made from the home computer, in wireless communication with the vehicle 1.
[0096]
[0097] Additionally, the vehicle 1 activates the driving mode 5. In this way, the vehicle 1 configures and enables the parameters of the vehicle 1 necessary to circulate according to the requirements or needs of the user. This activation of the driving mode 5 will take into account the driving mode 5 that has been determined as the desired or the tax to start the vehicle. Once the emission of the light signals 6 has been made or simultaneously, the signaling mode 5 will be activated.
[0098] In addition to the points discussed above, the vehicle 1 by means of the wireless communication means 4 can receive an instruction of the driving mode 5 with which it is desired to activate the vehicle 1. This reception of the driving mode 5 can be by an express wish of the driver of the vehicle 1 or by an obligation or requirement of external public entities. For example, in conditions of poor air quality, a municipality could force vehicles 1 to circulate in electric mode. This instruction will be received by the wireless communication means 4, the received information will be determined as driving mode 5 to be configured in the vehicle 1 and a signal will be issued to the user so that he knows the activation of the vehicle 1 with the mode of driving 5 determined. At the same time, the vehicle will activate and enable the necessary parameters to circulate according to the mode of driving received and determined.
[0099]
[0100] Figure 2 shows, illustratively, an example of external device 8, in this case a key with a knob and chip inside, with the buttons for opening and closing, and the intermediate button for independent opening of the luggage compartment . By means of the key the user is able to transmit the desired driving mode. This transmission or sending of information between the external device 8 and the wireless communication means 4 can be carried out at the same moment in which the user activates the vehicle 1 by means of the key. In this way, the opening communication of the vehicle 1 is used for the user to select the driving mode 5 with which to activate the vehicle 1. Automatically, the vehicle 1 will emit a luminous signal 6 characteristic of the selected driving mode 5, of so that the user can recognize whether the driving mode 5 has been duly received and activated by the vehicle 1. That is, illustratively, that a command of the key (eg 3 presses to the door opening button of the key) proceed to the unlocking of doors and simultaneously to select an ignition of the engine in electric mode.
[0101]
[0102] As previously mentioned, the driving mode 5 determined and subsequently activated can be the desired driving mode 5 emitted by the user through the external device 8, or received by the wireless communication means 4 of an external electronic device. . Furthermore, in the event that the wireless communication medium receives no driving mode request 5, the vehicle 1 establishes a driving mode 5 by default, or else it establishes the last driving mode 5 activated in the vehicle 1. Likewise, the user will be informed by means of the light signal 6 of the driving mode 5 to be activated. In this way, in case of that the user is not satisfied with the driving mode 5, he / she will be able to modify it and alter it before boarding the vehicle 1.
[0103]
[0104] In order to modify and issue a driving mode request 5 by means of the external device 8, the key has sequences and button commands that allow to identify each driving mode 5. Thus, by way of non-limiting example, a mode Electric propulsion can be requested by double pressing on the key unlocking button. On the other hand, a propulsion mode by combustion motor can be requested by making a triple press on the key unlocking button of the key.
[0105]
[0106] More in detail, the selection and activation of a driving mode 5 means that a control unit 3 of the vehicle 1 configures at least one parameter 7. Therefore, the vehicle 1 will adapt and modify its behavior or performance in order to adapt to the desired driving mode request.
[0107]
[0108] Illustratively, a non-limiting example of the driving modes 5 available in a vehicle 1 is described below. Thus, according to a first example, the parameters 7 to be adapted according to the selected driving mode 5 are related to the propulsion system. In this way, a hybrid vehicle can modify the type of propulsion by varying, for example, between a propulsion by means of an electric motor or a combustion motor. It is understood that another type of hybridization can be equally valid for the present invention.
[0109]
[0110] According to a second example, the parameters 7 to be adapted by the control unit 3 will be related to a behavior of the vehicle 1, where by behavior is understood a dynamic configuration of the vehicle 1. To specify that a vehicle 1 can have, for example , a dynamic response that allows to adjust characteristics of the respective components of the vehicle 1, such as engine, transmission, direction, damping, differential gears and the like. Thus, different modes affecting the dynamics of the vehicle 1 can be preselected, for example in the form of an especially comfortable suspension, a particularly sporty suspension or an automatic mode that adjusts, for example, the components of vehicle 1 mentioned above according to the behavior of driving the user as necessary. Dynamic driving modes are typically known such as sports, economic, comfortable, circulation off asphalt ... which refer to more or less aggressive and / or sportive driving styles.
[0111]
[0112] According to a third example, the parameters 7 to be adapted by the control unit 3 will be related to the driving system. In this way, autonomous and manual driving modes can be provided, i.e. assisted or direct driving by the driver of the vehicle 1. In this example, the emission of a light signal 6 equivalent to an autonomous driving of the vehicle 1 allows the user to be aware that the vehicle 1 will start the march without the need for the user to participate in the driving task. Therefore, the user will be aware of this before entering the vehicle 1, so he can enter the vehicle 1 in a different position than the driver, taking advantage! the benefits of autonomous driving.
[0113]
[0114] Figure 3 shows, illustratively, another example of external device 8, in this case an intelligent mobile phone or Smartphone, with the user in disposition to press it to give the order to open and / or activate the vehicle 1. Asl , the smart mobile phone or Smartphone comprises an intelligent virtual key or Smartkey that allows to proceed with the activation of the vehicle 1 from the external device 8 in a comfortable and efficient manner. Similarly, the Smartphone comprises an application 9 that allows selecting the desired driving mode 5 on the part of the user. This application 9 may comprise a plurality of individual actuators, where each actuator equals a different driving mode.
[0115]
[0116] For example, in a particular embodiment, if the user through application 9 of the smart mobile phone presses on the actuator of sports driving mode 5, activating all the car systems that are required for the sport driving mode. Simultaneously, headlight 2 will initiate a sequence of switching on and off of its different light elements, and color these parts using RGB technology. In a first embodiment, the firing ceremonies or sequences are pre-programmable, that is to say, to be chosen by the user, and in a second embodiment, they will be programmed in the control unit of the vehicle 1.
[0117]
[0118] In another example of embodiment, it is that a first signal is indicative that the desire of the occupant has been correctly transmitted, while a second signal is indicative that the transmission has been incorrect, so that vehicle 1 will be opened by default in the driving modes 5 that it has predefined.
[0119]
[0120] Figure 4 shows a diagram of the device of the present invention, with the component components. Thus, the vehicle 1 comprises a control unit 3, where the control unit 3 comprises at least one predefined driving mode 5. Each of the driving modes 5 comprises a determined vehicle configuration, where each driving mode 5 modifies at least one parameter 7 of the vehicle 1. Thus, the at least one parameter 7 of the vehicle 1 comprises a behavior of the vehicle 1, where the behavior of the vehicle 1 is based on a configuration of a vehicle dynamics 1.
[0121]
[0122] Additionally, the control unit is in communication with at least one wireless communication means 4 by means of which information or instructions are received from at least one external device 8. The external device 8 can be an electronic key and / or a mobile telephone and / or a computer. In turn, the external device 8 may comprise at least one application 9, so as to select the desired driving mode.
[0123]
[0124] The details, the forms, the dimensions and other accessory elements, as well as the components used in the implementation of the method, and associated device, to control an activation of a driving mode of a vehicle, may be conveniently replaced by others that are technically equivalents, and do not depart from the essentiality of the invention or the scope defined by the claims that are included in the following list.
